(Large Square), Hradec Králové
The square differs from the surrounding urban structures due to its spaciousness and relaxed look along with a sense of detachment, with a view of the cathedral in the distance and serving to enhance the façades of the public buildings. It is a clean surface allowing the significant buildings on the square to be presented in all their beauty, as if on a silver platter. At the same time the Large Square in Hradec Králové, the central space of the historical part of the city, cannot be regarded as a square in the true sense of the word. As the surface of the square naturally opens up, the longitudinal lines of the concurrent paving stones gradually close in. This serves to thus create an imaginary line reflecting the extent of openness of the surface of the square.
